Victoria spoke to cinefile.com whilst out in Chicago, and this is what they have to say about the film so far, click the image below:

Victoria would like to thank in particular Nelson and Mike from cinefile.com for recognizing the amount of work gone in to the promotional materials for Stanley Pickle after production, she has done this single handedly since the beginning of the year, and this video shows that it is worth every ounce of time, care and money that has so far been put in to it.  Even if she is continuing to talk about herself in the 3rd person…;) Nelson and Mike, thanks very much. Here is the first on camera interview with Vicky for Cinefile.com about Stanley Pickle, (quick note: if you don’t understand, when I am referring to the ‘Grade’ I am talking about ‘Colour Grading’ which is like photoshopping the colour within the film:

On the 16th of October , the British Council made it possible for Director Victoria to fly to Chicago for the 46th Chicago International Film Festival, and rather unexpectedly, won a Silver Plaque for Best Animation. The awards ceremony was held at ‘The Pump Room’ where Frank Sinatra famously used to to sit and make phone calls, so famous is this story, that his phone still sits at his table. (He’s not on the other end of it though.)

Victoria and the Stanley Pickle crew are absolutely delighted with all the success of the film so far, and to win in Chicago is a real treat!

“A Silver Plaque for Best Animation goes to STANLEY PICKLE (UK). Its clever use of stop-motion animation wonderfully complements its comic, but bittersweet, story about loneliness, isolation and freedom. Director: Victoria Mather”

The Short Film Jury includes Mimi Brody, Jamie Ceasar, Patrick Frie and John Noble.

There are a few more screenings coming up for Stanley Pickle in Chicago Monday 18th 8pm, Tuesday 19th 10am as part of the Outreach program for schools, and another regular screening at 1.45pm at the AMC cinema.

(The award is being inscribed at the moment, will post a picture as soon as it’s done, for now please enjoy a temporary photo outside the famous Chicago theatre)

Jeremiah Miles designed the 46th Chicago International Film Festival poster and look, there’s Stanley Pickle:

On Saturday the 9th of October Stanley Pickle picked up an award at the extravagant Festival du Film Britannique de Dinard-  the PRIX DU MEILLEUR COURT-METRAGE award for the NFTS VS La Femis competition. It was a great programme, and wonderful to see how our first French audience would react. Thankfully there was a lot of laughter and applause and since it was an audience vote, it couldn’t have been a more humbling experience.

Merci beaucoup à notre public français en premier!

Victoria travelled over to Dinard with Documentary Film Maker Lottie Gammon who’s film ‘Behind This Sea’ also screened within the programme. Much to their amazement they were flown over on a private plane and treated like royalty!

Below is a photo of the Red Hitchcock award for Stanley Pickle, the Whisky sponsor Chivas Regal were very kind to give us a bottle of their finest smoke and fire which I am sure we’ll be enjoying when the weather starts to get a little colder in the UK!

Stanley Pickle holds the red Hitchcock !

On Sunday the 10th of October the Raindance Film Festival came to an end with an awards ceremony at the Apollo Cinema in Picadilly Circus, Victoria attended with Actor Drew Caiden and Stanley Pickle won the grand title of ‘BEST UK SHORT’

This award, particularly being in London, is very special to the Stanley Pickle crew: firstly, it’s home, secondly, being up against a selection of some of the finest shorts in the country was a privilege, and thirdly, being judged by such a superb and impressive jury was the icing on the cake, THANK YOU for this.

Jury members at Raindance this year: Lemmy (from Motorhead), Mark Herbert (Warp Films), Dave Mckean (wow!), Alison Owen (Producer), Julian Barratt (from The Mighty Boosh), Ernie Marsh (a sound legend), Joe Bateman (Rushes Soho Shorts), Derek Malcom (Film Critic) and Charles Saatchi (holy mackerel)!

All in all, It’s been a pretty fun week for the Pickle ;)

(Left to right) Luke Hull (produciton design), Kassiani Koufaki (SFX/CGI) Drew Caiden (Actor Stanley Pickle), Haruka Abe (Actor Bluebell) and Orhan Boztas (Screenwriter)
